These stars who assume and proclaim normality

Do you know about coming out day? It's the world's coming out day, which takes place on 11 October every year. But no pressure! Coming out is something you do when you feel ready and confident with those around you. Reassuring ourselves that we are not alone, and that even big names in the film industry are terrified of revealing this part of their intimacy, helps to find courage.

We can say to ourselves "Yes, but they are famous, already rich, they are safe". But these confessions can cost roles, friendships and deep loneliness, but as we will see it is also one of the greatest reliefs of their lives!

Eliott Page

The Canadian actor came out as trans on December 1, 2020 in an emotional tweet and announced that he was terrified it would jeopardize his career. With his Twitt getting over 1.5 million likes, the actor felt supported and more than that, in the final season of Umbrella Academy, Eliott Page was able to film a moving scene where he confessed to his siblings that he was gay and had transitioned. This announcement was received in the best possible way on the show. "You're family, if you feel comfortable like that, that's your choice, we love you". The actor will even say that it was liberating and that the world needed to see more scenes like this.

Troye Sivan

Before he had a successful career in film and song, Troye Sivan was first and foremost a Youtuber. In 2013, he confided on his channel that he had come out to his parents three years earlier. The young singer has always been an activist for the gay cause and takes advantage of this to pass on messages through his songs or to confide in others about his feelings and difficult moments linked to his homosexuality. In his acting career he has played in Boy Erased, a film that denounces the harmful effects of conversion therapy, or homotherapy, a religious practice that promises to cure homosexuality.

Bella Thorne

You probably know her from her teenage years for the most part, ex-Disney actress, she said she was pansexual "I've had it explained to me what it is, for me it's clear it's loving beings, not necessarily girls or boys or pronouns she, he, this or that. You just love a personality. "

Neil Patrick Harris

The famous actor from the series How I Met Your Mother, where he plays the stud and the woman's lover, came out in 2006. The actor recently confessed that he was tired of the image of the heartthrob that sticks to him in most of his on-screen roles. He doesn't recognise himself in it and feels the 'comedy and acting' side of things is more raw and less satisfying. "Acting should be a pleasure, but when people try to give you the same role for years, it's like subconsciously forcing you to change". That's why the actor is very proud of the series released this year - Uncoupled - in which he plays the lead role, a gay real estate agent who deals with the properties of rich uppity New Yorkers with freshness and humour while tackling the gay couple.

Wentworth Miller

The prison break actor came out as gay in 2013. Even more strongly, in a letter to the director of the St Petersburg festival announced that he was refusing to attend the event, explaining that as a gay man he did not adhere to the country's attitude towards homosexuals. "People like me are systematically deprived of their fundamental right to live and love openly."

Love yourself, take responsibility for yourself and keep the people around you who make you feel alive and at the right place, because you are.
